A proud rum tradition
The Dominican Republic produces well-known aged rums. Rum ships to the United States, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.
How rum is shipped
- Ocean LCL or FCL on pallets; bottles in strong cartons with dividers.
- Shrink-wrapped pallets to prevent breakage and theft.
- Air only for samples or small urgent orders (alcohol has limits by air).
What you need
Exporter registration with ProDominicana, commercial invoice, packing list, export declaration (DUA), bill of lading, certificate of origin. For the U.S., the importer must hold a TTB federal basic permit and get label approval (COLA), the producer needs FDA food facility registration, and FDA prior notice is required; federal excise tax and state rules apply.
How Puente Freight helps
